Dan Dougherty, President
Dan Dougherty was named President of Waypoint on July 1st 2020. Before joining Waypoint, Dan owned and operated Omaha, Nebraska-based Dougherty Brokerage, one of the industry-leading regional sales agencies that came together to form Waypoint in January 2012.
In addition to various leadership roles, Dan has been a critical part of creating a dynamic and collaborative culture at Waypoint that highly values team members and the clients and customers the organization serves. Dan is committed to take Waypoint into its next successful chapters as we continue leading the way in the industry. We look forward to great success under Dan’s leadership.
Andy Wilson, Executive Vice President of Sales
Andy Wilson was named EVP of Sales in September 2020. Before that, he held positions within Waypoint as Area Vice President and most recently Senior Vice President of Client Teams. He has over 35 years of Foodservice Industry experience. Andy was one of the founding partners of Midwest Venture Partners (MVP) an industry-leading regional broker in the Midwest before coming together to form Waypoint in January 2012.
Andy has served on many advisory committees for leading Foodservice Manufacturers and was instrumental in organizing the Foodservice Broker’s association FSMA where he served as Chairman for the first 3 years of inception and remains an active Board Member.
As a member of the executive leadership team, Andy has helped foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, creativity, and accountability which allows us to better serve our clients and customers while “Winning as One”.
Kevin White, Executive Vice President of Clients
Kevin White and the client team are responsible for driving connectivity between our clients and the Waypoint sales team. The Client Team builds sales execution plans that focus our efforts against key priorities and growth for our clients. Kevin oversees client sales strategy, client communication, performance reviews and delivering solutions across all areas of the company for our clients.
He has wide experience within Foodservice having worked for both Kraft General Foods and Sara Lee. In 1993, he established an independent brokerage business in San Antonio, Texas which eventually became one of the founding members of Waypoint when his company merged with seven other industry-leading regional brokers.
Kevin is a graduate of Oklahoma State University and enjoys golfing, wake surfing and fishing in the Texas Hill Country.
Julie Swift, Senior Vice President of Business Development
In addition to leading business development at Waypoint, Julie Swift executive sponsors Waypoint’s Culture Champion team and DE&I Council. She also serves on the inaugural eight-member Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Board for Advantage Solutions. Her passion for Foodservice is matched by her dedication to fostering a more diverse, equitable and inclusive industry overall.
A veteran to the Foodservice industry, she has held varied leadership roles across sales, marketing and business development. Before joining Waypoint, Julie spent 25 years with The French’s Food Company and McCormick. Throughout her well-rounded career at French’s, she held various marketing and sales leadership roles, led corporate distribution and pioneered the non-commercial channel.
Julie is a three-time TWIG (Top Women In Grocery) award winner and named Biz 417’s “Women Who Mean Business”.

Matt Ward, Senior Vice President Strategy and Innovation
In his role, Matt Ward and his team are responsible for driving results through innovative solutions and uncovering new market opportunities for clients. He oversees the Sales Enablement, Insights, Strategy, and Growth Teams, delivering solutions across all areas of the company to help deliver results for clients.
Before his current role, Matt served as Managing Director of Food IQ, Director of Strategic Planning at VML/Biggs-Gilmore, and Director of Strategy at Grey Advertising. In each of these roles, Matt worked with Food-Industry clients, blending insights and analytics to drive business results.
Matt is a graduate of Georgia Tech and the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School and the School of Engineering. He serves on the board of the Outdoor Recreation Education Corporation and enjoys running, biking, and climbing in the mountains of Colorado in his spare time.
John Schwaab, Senior Vice President of the Commercial Solutions Division
John Schwaab has been with Waypoint for 8 years, first starting his career with the company in the role of Senior Director of Client Teams for the Foodservice division. In 2016, he moved to the newly created position of Vice President Commercial Solutions to lead the integration of twelve independent sales agencies in Disposable, E&S and Janitorial sales. In his role, he develops and executes operating plans to integrate Sales, Customer Service, Finance, HR and IT from each organization into a national sales agency across Waypoint.
A 30-year veteran to the Foodservice and Commercial Products industry, John holds a Master’s degree from Kent State University and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas.
Greg Munger, Senior Vice President Sales and Clients
Greg Munger was named SVP of Sales and Clients in September 2020. Greg supports sales team tactical execution and works with multiple stakeholder partners; client, marketing, segment, field, and distribution to ensure delivery and execution of shared and specific go-to-market strategies, keeping client development and sales aligned to common goals. Before this role, he was the Vice President of the Mountain Central Area at Waypoint.
Greg has over 30 years of Foodservice leadership experience, starting at Pegler/Sysco in 1988 as a Meat and Poultry Product Manager and holding a variety of roles including Vice President of Merchandising, Marketing and Business Resources. He joined DBC Foods in Omaha as the Vice President of Strategy in 2010 until DBC merged and became part of Waypoint in 2012.
Greg graduated from the University of Nebraska-Kearney and has completed multiple certificate programs at Harvard Business Executive Education, Disney Institute, University of Houston Hotel and Restaurant Management School, and the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. Greg is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
